‘The Simple Root’ secures listing with Thomas Ridley Foodservice
The Simple Root has announced it will be launching with Thomas Ridley Foodservice as its go to market partner for the 2kg pack format of the firm’s market leading chilled plant-based cooking sauces.
The launch brings a clear strategic partnership to both businesses, as Thomas Ridley seeks to grow its plant-based offering and The Simple Root seeks key partners for supply in travel, leisure, hotel, restaurant, offices, universities and the wider out-of-home market.

With the innovative plant-based products providing a quick and easy solution for chefs, Thomas Ridley will be offering the full range of The Simple Root’s plant-based sauces – Truffle & Ch**se Style Sauce, Spicy Satay Style Sauce, Creamy Pesto Style Sauce, and Creamy Simple White Sauce – which all contain over 50 per cent vegetables.
All The Simple Root sauces are certified vegan as well as being gluten-free, dairy-free, and peanut-free, and contain no artificial flavours or preservatives – perfect for catering for a wide range of food preferences and intolerances. Creamy tastes and textures are achieved without dairy using simple root vegetables as the number-one ingredient – perfect for packing more veg into our diets in an easy way.
A rundown of The Simple Root range
The Truffle & Ch**se Style Sauce is deliciously decadent, with a hint of truffle to easily recreate restaurant style dishes at home. Made of over 50 per cent root vegetables alongside other plant-based ingredients, herbs and spices, it makes the ultimate vegan comfort bowl of Truffle Mac n’ Ch**se in minutes. Set to become a midweek staple, the Creamy Pesto Style Sauce is bursting with garlic, basil and 70 per cent less fat than other pestos available. Stir through pasta for a quick and easy plant-based lunch or dinner.
With a bold chilli kick, the Spicy Satay Style Sauce is peanut-free. As with all of The Simple Root range, the sauce contains no artificial flavours or preservatives, as well as being dairy- and gluten-free. A great addition to curries or as a dip alongside skewers, the sauce offers a better-for-you cooking companion that doesn't sacrifice taste.
A white sauce or ‘béchamel' is a cook’s best friend for making easy meals, and The Simple Root’s Creamy Simple White Sauce is no different.
