Annies Fruit Bars, the all-natural snack made from NZ’s best fruit

For 33 years, Annies has been making 100-per-cent fruit snacks. Made by taking whole fruit, pulping it, then air-drying it, the all-natural Annies Fruit Bars are manufactured in New Zealand and loved the world over.

“We’ve captured the goodness and natural flavour from some of New Zealand’s best fruit,” the firm said in a statement. “Crisp apples are combined with a selection of summer fruit picked at their best.”

Annies Fruit Bars are today available in four fruit flavours: Apple & Strawberry, Apple & Apricot, Apple & Raspberry, and Apple & Mango Passion fruit.

100% natural, 100% fruit

Made from 100-per-cent real fruit, all Annies products are New Zealand made and tick all the boxes that consumers are increasingly looking for: vegan, gluten free, preservative-free, nut-free, sulphite-free, dairy-free, and free from additives and colours. Produced from whole fruit, the bars contain more fibre than rival products made from concentrate; they also contain no added sugar.

Annies Fruit Bars are marketed by the manufacturer as “a lunchbox staple, an energy boost for hiking expeditions, a post-workout pick-me-up, or simply something to quell those hangry moments.”

New Zealand’s ‘top of the south’

The Annies brand is part of Kono – a Māori whānau owned business in New Zealand’s ‘top of the south’, exporting to over 27 countries today.

“Kono is a values-driven business, and these values underpin all our brands and the way we do business,” said the firm in a statement. “The key values which we associate with Annies are ‘Pono’, which speaks to truthfulness, and ‘Whangataunga’ – meaning ‘together we are more’.

“Like the very first bar made 33 years ago, our fruit snacks still contain only two to three ingredients, made by people that care. Our snacks are honest – we have nothing to hide.”
