Buzzed launches world’s first naturally uplifting energy tonic water

New UK drinks brand Buzzed has unveiled the world’s first energy tonic water. Tapping into the elevated consumer interest in health and wellness, Buzzed provides a refreshing new take on the traditional tonic.

The product’s manufacturers say that the new offering is unique to the market: “In contrast to most leading energy drinks, which use synthetic caffeine, Buzzed’s caffeine source is 100-per-cent naturally retrieved, extracted from natural plant sources, but still boasts more caffeine per 100ml than the UK’s leading energy brand,” the firm said in a statement.

With the brand name inspired by the caffeine energy boost the tonic delivers and because it is sweetened only with pure Blossom Honey and Stevia, “Buzzed provides consumers with the ultimate, all-natural uplift”, its producers told Food & Beverage Networker.

Tonic water and natural ingredients – major growth drivers

According to data from Kantar, Tonic Water is one of the biggest growth drivers in adult soft drinks. Moreover, research shows that 70 per cent of consumers have become more attentive to natural ingredient claims over the last 12 months. Such trends point towards the innovative new launch offering an uplifting sales opportunity for retailers.

British made, with 100-per-cent recyclable packaging and all ingredients ethically produced in the UK, Buzzed is sweetened with the finest pure Blossom Honey and plant-based Stevia, creating the perfect delicate flavour experience – one that avoids the overwhelming sugary taste often associated with energy drinks.

A health-conscious buzz to lift the spirits

“There is a well-established consumer occasion for spirits and an energy drink, but there is no premium brand in this space offering a clean, natural solution which doesn’t compromise on flavour,” observed Buzzed founder, Louise Lloyd. “Our research has shown that many people choose this kind drink combination despite the taste, not because of it, simply to get a pick-me-up. Buzzed was created to quite simply lift your spirit – not overpower it.”

With vibrant packaging and contemporary, bold branding designed for on-shelf stand-out, the brand is being supported with a six-figure marketing spend and will have a significant presence at key summer events to drive awareness.

Suitable as a standalone drink, or as a mixer for spirits and low/no alcohol alternatives, Buzzed delivers on multiple drinking occasions. In addition, boasting more caffeine per 100ml than the UK’s leading energy brand, whilst being only 17kcals per can, the new launch targets the health-conscious consumer, delivering an alternative mixer or energy booster for those concerned about artificial flavourings and calorie consumption.

Buzzed is launching now in Selfridges – both in-store and online.  Buzzed is available in cases of eight units with an RRSP of £5.50.
