Eatplanted secures first UK grocery listing in organic supermarket chain Planet Organic
Eatplanted, Europe’s leading meat alternative brand, has secured its first UK grocery listing in organic supermarket chain Planet Organic. The Eatplanted range, consisting of four SKUs, will be available to purchase at all 13 stores.
Eatplanted’s products are made from 100-per-cent natural ingredients using a combination of proteins from peas, sunflowers and oats to create alternative meats that include eatplanted.chicken and eatplanted.pulled.
Produced using clean ingredients with no additives, Eatplanted’s range includes dietary fibres whilst containing all the essential amino acids to ensure they are a high-quality source of protein.
“A natural choice”
“We’re delighted to have secured our first grocery listing in Planet Organic,” remarked Eatplanted’s UK Country Manager, Matt Done. “What’s more, Planet Organic’s mission aligns perfectly with our own goals – to create delicious sustainable products that taste great and protect our planet – so it felt like a natural choice for us to list our range in their stores.”
The four SKUs available at Planet Organic are:
• eatplanted.kebab (RRP: £5.29)
• eatplanted.chicken Lemon and Herb (RRP: £5.29)
• eatplanted.pulled BBQ (RRP: £5.29)
• eatplanted.pulled Chimichurri (RRP: £5.29)
Award-winning alt-meat innovation
A growing population along with increasing life expectancy and incomes are major drivers for the rise in global meat demand. However, Eatplanted says the current scale of the meat industry is beyond unsustainable, and has set out to change that. The Zurich-based foodtech spin-off from the Swiss Technical Institute of Technology (ETH) was founded in 2019 and was quick to build intellectual property around their bio structuring approach. Among other international awards, Eatplanted ranked first at the TOP 100 Swiss Start-up Awards in 2021.
Eatplanted produces all its products under a glass-house production facility in Kemptthal, Switzerland – the first transparent meat production open to the public.
Eatplanted is available at restaurants and retailers across Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy and most recently, the UK as well as over its own Europe-wide webshop.
