Hospitality Gin’s Bartender Series kicks off with ‘Pineapple + Pepper’

Charity gin brand Hospitality Gin has unveiled an exciting new addition to its range. The new Pineapple + Pepper Gin also marks the introduction of the brand’s new Bartender Series of gins that showcase unconventional flavour combinations, improving drinks and inspiring creativity in the process.

The new gin makes use of freeze-dried pineapple, green bell pepper and pink peppercorn, alongside other botanicals including juniper, lemon thyme, orange blossom and orange peel. These are hand-distilled at Cooper King Distillery in Yorkshire using state-of-the-art vacuum stills, which ensure only the freshest, brightest flavours are extracted.

The gin opens with a savoury, earthy hit of juniper and green bell pepper, which leads to juicy, tropical aromas and lifted citrus from the pineapple, lemon thyme and orange blossom. The green pepper makes a return on the palate, joined by a perfumed sherbet tingle from the pink peppercorn.

A symbol of hospitality

At the heart of this new gin brand is the pineapple, which, in early American history became a symbol of hospitality: with trade routes between America and Caribbean Islands often slow and perilous, it was considered a significant achievement from a host to procure a ripe pineapple for guests.

Fast-forward to the present day, and the new gin brand has become a symbol of support for the hospitality industry.

Hospitality Gin was created earlier this year when the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the UK hospitality industry became apparent. Sheffield-based industry veteran Tom Lord had the idea to create a not-for-profit spirit brand, with proceeds from its Charity Dry Gin going to The Drinks Trust and Hospitality Action, and with plans to start a dedicated Hospitality Gin fund. The brand has since sold hundreds of bottles, and expects to raise at least £10,000 per year.

Hospitality Gin, and the new Hospitality Gin Bartender Series #1 Pineapple + Pepper, are available direct from the brand’s website – both available in 70cl and 50cl bottles, for £37 and £30, respectively. The brand is offering a launch discount of £30 and £25 for both expressions. They are also available from Master of Malt, Spirits Store and local stockists – contact Hospitality Gin for more details, as well as for trade enquiries.
