Handcrafted by former Pernod Ricard execs in the heart of Brixton and infused with flavours from Brixton’s historic Market Row, the new super-premium ‘Market Row Botanical Rum’ is steeped in Caribbean soul yet with a distinctly London spirit. 

 

Former Pernod Ricard executives Laurent Lacassagne (previously chairman and CEO of London-based Chivas Brothers) and Londoner Patrick Venning (formerly Chivas Brothers’ Marketing Director) have combined their 50+ years of spirits expertise to launch ‘Market Row Botanical Rum’, a super-premium rum passionately handcrafted at the new micro-distillery they have co-founded in the heart of Brixton Market. 

Tea, hibiscus and red rose infused spirit

Market Row Botanical Rum is a blend of premium Jamaican, Bajan and Dominican pot still rums from five historic, award-winning distilleries. 

The spirit is infused with Kenyan black tea, Nigerian hibiscus and red rose from Pakistan – all inspired and sourced from Brixton Market. Aged in ex-bourbon barrels, Market Row Botanical Rum has a naturally dry and light taste, with less sugar than most rums, and can be enjoyed with a mixer, in a cocktail, or on ice.

Bringing craft, creativity and inclusivity to rum

Laurent Lacassagne and Patrick Venning teamed up with craft distiller Matt Servini to bring their vision for this exceptional new botanical rum to life. They have also brought accomplished bartender/operations manager Mikey Hirsch on board as Market Row’s Brand Ambassador.

In describing what differentiates Market Row Botanical Rum, Master Distiller Matt Servini said the new spirit is “a great-tasting premium botanical rum with a ‘Brixton Twist’”. 

“The botanicals we’ve carefully handpicked are inspired by Brixton Market,” he told us. “They’re subtle on the nose and palate, and give Market Row Botanical Rum a completely different dimension to any other rum on the market.”

 

In speaking of what he loves about Market Row Botanical Rum, Brand Ambassador Mikey Hirsch added: “The subtle flavours of the botanicals become much more prominent in a cocktail or mixer, which is what sets Market Row apart – they add something you wouldn’t expect and that isn’t present in traditional rums.”
