Oterra set to be un-beet-able following latest acquisition
Oterra, the world’s leading supplier of natural colours to the F&B industry, completed its acquisition of Diana Food’s natural food colouring business on the 29th December 2021.
Oterra, which boasts the largest portfolio of natural colours for the F&B sector, first announced its intention to acquire this segment of Diana Food back in September.
Oterra will now begin the work of fully integrating Diana Food’s natural food colouring business into its portfolio as soon as possible. This new acquisition – the second in six months since Oterra became a standalone company – further boosts Oterra’s global footprint, with the addition of two Diana sites (Cossé in France and Holbeach in the UK) bringing the company’s production site tally to 10.
Oterra’s stepping stone into organic colours market
The acquisition gives Oterra a stepping stone into the lucrative organic colours markets, and will allow the company to offer its customers and market partners a line of USDA and EU organic certified colours that bring vibrant and stable colour to various applications. It will also strengthen the company’s backwards integration of red beet.
Odd Erik Hansen, CEO of Oterra, said he was excited to welcome Diana Food’s natural food colouring employees, customers, and market partners. “Diana Food’s is the king of red beet, having grown them for natural colouring for more than 30 years. Their innovation and expertise will be strong additions to our portfolio,” he enthused. “I look forward to not only offering Oterra’s customers a wider portfolio, but also having the opportunity to open the industry’s most comprehensive portfolio up to existing Diana customers,” added Mr Hansen.
