Plate Up announces new partnership with celebrity chef Nisha Katona MBE
Free recipe and meal kit app Plate Up has announced a new partnership with celebrity chef Nisha Katona MBE, with a view to showcasing on the app many of Nisha’s own recipes from her latest best-selling book ‘30 Minute Mowgli: Fast Easy Indian from the Mowgli Home Kitchen’.
As a curry evangelist, Nisha has always been interested in the anthropology of food. Not only has she released many cookbooks like ‘30 Minute Mowgli’ and ‘Mowgli Street Food’ – published by Nourish Books; she is also a fantastic TV presenter, working on shows such as Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, ITV’s Lorraine and This Morning, and many more. Her Mowgli Street Food restaurants specialise in Indian home cooking, in a shift away from the traditional British curry house.
Bringing Nisha’s “trademark bold, fresh flavours to the family table”
“Nisha Katona is a culinary star, known for bringing her trademark bold, fresh flavours to the family table and for making authentic Indian cooking accessible to a British audience. We are incredibly proud to publish her cookbooks,” remarked Fiona Robertson, Publisher at Nourish Books.
“Given the innovation and ease Plate Up has brought to the perpetual question of ‘What’s for dinner?’ over the past year, and their strong commitment to making every meal different, fun and exciting, we are proud to partner with them to make recipes from Nisha Katona's latest book, 30 Minute Mowgli, even more accessible and easy to cook at home,” Ms. Robertson added.
Easy to shop, step-by-step recipes – inspired by India
Co-founder of Plate Up, Conor Boyle, admitted that he has always been “a massive fan” of Nisha and her Mowgli restaurants, as well as her cookbooks. “We are super excited to introduce Nisha’s style of recipes to our ever-growing Plate Up community,” he commented. “I mean, who doesn't love delicious, fast, easy Indian food from the Mowgli home kitchen?”
This partnership will offer Plate Up users their innovative, easy-to-shop approach for this new range of step-by-step recipes inspired by Indian culture and cuisine. It will also introduce chef Nisha Katona to a new tech savvy generation, illustrating to them how you can make delicious meals at home in 30 minutes or less.
