Discover the best-tasting organic wine at Organic Food Iberia 2020

Organic Food Iberia PR 2020_ Organic Win

Organic wine is today big business. And for specialised importers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, and the on-trade buyers looking to cater to this trend, Organic Wine Iberia (3–4 June in Madrid) is a must attend.

Organic wine is a major export potential for Spain. According to the IWSR Organic Wine Report, the market is forecasted to reach 87.5m cases by 2022, as consumer sentiment for sustainability and organic products continues to strengthen. Recent statistics show that the number of wine producers in Spain increased by 10 per cent in 2018 to 1,033 (up from 939 in 2017) and in Valencia it increased by 16.5 per cent to reach 126 producers (up from 108 in 2017).

Organic Wine Iberia – part of Organic Food Iberia – returns to Ifema-Feria de Madrid on 3-4 June, and is set to feature a diverse range of quality organic wines from across the Iberian Peninsula. The latest wine exhibitors to be announced include Bodegas Cornelio, Navarrosotillo, DOP Jumilla, Viñedos Ruiz Jimenez, Viña Ijalba, Bodegas Corral – Don Jacobo, and Vinícola Real.

As well as independent wineries, the show will feature pavilions from Valencia, La Rioja, and Spanish Organic Wines (SOW) – with more companies yet to be confirmed.

“Organic Wine Iberia is an unmissable event for DOP Jumilla Wines, as we are one of the leading wine territories in Spain for organic vine cultivation, scattered between the provinces of Murcia and Albacete,” advised Esther Gonzalez de Paz, Communication & Marketing Development Manager at DOP Jumilla Wines. “Over 17,000 hectares of our vineyards are 95-per-cent organic – and so most of our wineries have certified organic wines on offer.”

Taste more, learn more

Organic Wine Iberia will feature the popular ‘Organic Wine Tasting Gallery’. Here, visitors can smell and taste fruity blends of Monastrell, Merlot, Syrah and Tempranillo, plus beautifully balanced Palomino and Godello. The tasting gallery makes it even easier for buyers to sample and discuss what’s on offer, away from the stands and show-floor.

For insights, research and discussions about the growing sector, the ‘Organic Wine Theatre’ will feature a range of international experts sharing their thoughts on vital market developments within organic wine, beers and spirits. Previous speakers have included the Spanish Association of Supermarket Chains (ACES), the Spanish Organic Wines Association (SOW), and the ‘Master of Wine’ Pancho Campo. The full speaker schedule will be announced in the coming months.

Other show features

Organic Wine Iberia – co-located with Organic Food Iberia and Eco Living Iberia – will take place at Ifema-Feria de Madrid from 3–4 June. The event will feature over 600 exhibiting companies, four dedicated theatres (the Organic Wine Theatre, Organic Theatre, Kitchen Theatre, and Eco Living & Beauty Theatre), alongside the Innovation Zone – featuring the next wave of bestselling products, regional and international pavilions – and the Organic Food & Eco Living Awards Iberia.
