IPACK-IMA and MEAT-TECH: exhibitor list now available online for Italy’s top processing & packaging event

The list of more than 600 companies that have already booked space for the upcoming IPACK-IMA and MEAT-TECH event – due to be held in the Fiera Milano exhibition centre from 29th May to 1st June 2018 – can now be consulted on the exhibition’s website – www.ipackima.com

Hundreds of Italian and international companies have confirmed their presence at Italy’s most important exhibition for the processing & packaging industry, which returns to Milan next year and is set to span 140,000 square metres of floorspace. With just under a year still to go before the show opens its doors, more than 70 per cent of the available exhibition space has already been booked, according to the organisers.

A multi-faceted food processing & packaging event

The participating companies reflect the multi-sectoral nature of the show, as Domenico Lunghi, Managing Director of the show’s management company, pointed out. “In an exhibition floor of 140,000 square metres, the show will host a range of production sectors united by a strong supply chain vision: from processing to packaging, from plastics processing and industrial and commercial printing to customised graphic design of packaging and labels, through to handling and storage of consumer-ready goods.”

Well over half of the firms taking part will exhibit technological innovations to serve the agri-food sector.

Companies belonging to the Pasta, Bakery & Milling business community comprise 22 per cent of the exhibitors, confirming IPACK-IMA’s role as one of the world’s most important events for that industrial sector.

Businesses operating in the confectionery segment will also be well represented (13 per cent of the total), as will those in other food industry sectors, particularly the Fresh & Convenience segment, which accounts for a further 25 per cent of the registered companies.

There will also be a strong presence of companies operating in the beverage segment and in the sector of liquid filling solutions in general (10 per cent) – the latter catering both for the food & beverage segment and for the ‘non-food’ business communities of chemicals and cosmetics, which account for 20 per cent of the total.

A further 10 per cent of companies that are signed up for the event operate in Industrial & Durable Goods Packaging segment, which includes applications ranging from automotive to fashion and from furnishing to construction.

The show will also bring together companies operating in the various transversal sectors, including labelling, tracking, coding and marking. These companies will showcase state-of-the-art solutions for a variety of applications ranging from food security to mass production and anti-falsification, as well as innovative materials, secondary packaging and end-of-line solutions.

MEAT-TECH – the place to meet

Naturally, there will also be a strongly representative selection of companies at MEAT-TECH, the only Italian show devoted to the meat industry, where the market leaders will be showcasing their latest innovations in terms of process, packaging, preservation and refrigeration technologies, along with a wide range of ingredients, spices and additives for meat processing.

The excellent response from exhibitor companies and the promotional activities conducted in recent months by the organisers are generating equally positive feedback from international players.

Prescient themes explored

A number of major cross-cutting themes relevant to all the business communities have been identified and will characterise both the exhibited products and the educational and conference topics at IPACK-IMA 2018. These are anti-counterfeiting, e-commerce, sustainability and Industry 4.0.

Innovative materials will also take centre stage in a new exhibition section entitled IPACK-MAT. Organised in collaboration with Material ConneXion Italia, it will be entirely devoted to innovative materials solutions including raw materials, semi-finished products and components for high value-added products and packaging and innovative containers. It will serve as a melting pot of ideas and creative inspirations for strategic corporate areas from R&D to Marketing.

IPACK-MAT will collaborate with PLAST-MAT and PRINT-MAT, the analogous satellite events of the shows PLAST and PRINT4ALL.

Another major feature of IPACK-IMA 2018 is its participation in THE INNOVATION ALLIANCE. “This is a major new project that brings together five important shows: PLAST, PRINT4ALL, MEAT-TECH and INTRALOGISTICA ITALIA, as well as IPACK-IMA itself,” explained Mr Lunghi.

“Along with our own promotional campaign, the show will also benefit from that of The Innovation Alliance,” continued Lunghi. “This consists of a network of agents in 40 countries and communication activities across more than 70 countries to ensure an increase in numbers of domestic and international visitors.”

More than 150,000 visitors are expected at Fiera Milano during the five days in which the five shows will be held.
