KellyDeli launches Veganuary menu

KellyDeli launches Veganuary menu.jpg

KellyDeli, the owner of sushi counter franchise Sushi Daily, has announced a colourful new vegan and vegetarian menu for January 2020 – one that caters to customers ditching meat for ‘Veganuary’ with a range of handmade products. There are Sushi Daily counters in over 100 convenient locations across the UK, including selected Waitrose and Asda stores.

Whether it’s for improved health, to protect the environment or to promote animal welfare, the public is embracing veganism and vegetarianism in droves – with one in three Brits stopping or reducing their meat consumption, according to the Vegan Society.

Plant-based sushi is on the rise and offers those who don’t enjoy raw fish an exciting alternative. Recent research by Sushi Daily found that 37 per cent of the British public haven’t even tried sushi, with 67 per cent saying it’s because they don’t like raw fish. And while sushi might not be the most obvious veggie option, it’s a myth that it must contain fish.

Offering an ‘easy option’ for Veganuary

Commenting on the launch of the new veggie dishes, Sushi Daily’s UK Managing Director Ian Roberts said: “We want to help make Veganuary, and going veggie in general, as hassle-free as possible and offer an ‘easy option’ for anyone giving it a go.

“We’ve introduced an alternative to white rice – a blend of quinoa and brown rice – included the citrus flavour of yuzu and packed our recipes full of delicious veggies,” he continued. “It’s handmade plant-based food with no gimmicks – just fresh ingredients and exciting flavour combinations to brighten up our customers’ January!”

Exciting veggie menu options

An exciting range of veggie dishes have been added to the menu of Sushi Daily counters across the country, including:

– Pomegranate Earth Bowl

With brown rice, red quinoa, avocado, pickled red onion, pickled cucumber, pickled carrots, pomegranate seeds, edamame beans, wakame seaweed and yuzu dressing.

– Veg and Chive Futomaki

Five large rolls of vegetarian sushi with brown rice, red quinoa mix, carrots, cucumber, chives and avocado.

– Maki California Veggie

Six simple and satisfying pieces of maki with sushi rice, cucumber, cream cheese and sesame seeds.

– Cheese and Chive Futomaki

Five large rolls of vegetarian sushi with brown rice, red quinoa, avocado, cucumber, chives and cream cheese.

Sides bursting with greens are also decorating Sushi Daily’s counters, as well as edamame pods and wakame salad, customers can try edamame pods with a yuzu or miso dressing and an ‘all green’ salad with wakame, edamame and cucumber.
