Metcalfe’s launches new popcorn concept, Jumbles

Popular popcorn and lighter snack creator Metcalfe’s® invites retailers to jumble up their snack selection by adding ‘little pops of joy’, with the next exciting popcorn invention: Jumbles.

Coming in two fabulous flavour combinations – Toffee Apple and Eton Mess – Metcalfe’s® Popcorn Jumbles is a totally new popcorn experience combining different tastes and textures, which is set to shake up the sharable lighter snacks market.

Reminiscent of the much-loved traditional treat, toffee apple lovers can now munch on delicious toffee and caramel-coated popcorn jumbled up with slices of dried apple, without a thought about calories.

Alternatively, snack aficionados can chomp on the Eton Mess flavour, bursting with delectable strawberry pieces and crunchy meringue shells and mingled with strawberry-coated popcorn that replicates the British summer favourite dessert – although lighter, of course.

Heaps of flavour for health-conscious consumers

From the team who pioneered the Sweet n’ Salt popcorn flavouring, the new Metcalfe’s® SKU uses real fruit pieces, is gluten-free, suitable for vegetarians, high in fibre and made without artificial flavours and colours. Metcalfe’s® Popcorn Jumbles Toffee Apple is just 107 kcals per portion and Eton Mess a mere 80 kcals, so health-conscious consumers can nibble away guilt-free.

The range is available exclusively in Sainsbury’s now (RRP: £1.79), with a delicious new SKU set to be added to the range from January 2020.

“Our innovation team took on the enviable challenge of adding joy to our very best butterfly popcorn to recreate these classic and fun favourites, without the guilt,” said Anthony Reeson, Development Manager at Metcalfe’s®. “Creating a lighter option without compromising on great taste meant that we had to consume quite a few treats to help develop the perfect product!”
