Saudi International Bakery & Pastry Expo (SIBP) – the only specialised exhibition in the GCC and wider Middle East for professionals in the segment – returns to Riyadh from 14–16 October, as the market for baked goods looks set to boom in the years ahead.

According to a recent report from IMARC Group, sales of baked goods globally is projected to reach a value of US$569 billion by 2023, registering a CAGR of nearly five per cent during 2018-2023. As the largest country by population in the Gulf region and the largest economy in the Arab World, Saudi Arabia will undoubtedly be a key GCC market for any baking industry players keen to gain a decent regional share of this expanding segment – while its capital, Riyadh, is the obvious location for a leading event to gather professionals from across the region and beyond.

 

Held by the Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) – one of the leading national institutions, with a prominent role in achieving economic development in KSA – the annual Saudi International Bakery & Pastry Expo (SIBP) in Riyadh last year welcomed more than 18,000 visitors (including local businessman and foreign investors) and 80 companies. This year, SIBP will be even bigger, its organisers advise, as the premier show continues to gain momentum.

 

The SIBP expo focuses predominantly on showcasing bakeries, patisseries, and all related markets. Additionally, there will be numerous special features including The Ultimate Bakery & Pastry Chef Competition, organised by the World Association of Chef’s Societies (WACS) and hosted by the internationally-renowned chef Thomas Gugler. Other key features include a dedicated business matchmaking programme, alongside an array of workshops and seminars designed especially for baking and pastry industry professionals. 

 

SIBP runs from 14-16 October at Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center.
