American burger chain Five Guys has announced the introduction of Curbside, a personalised and precise-location food pick-up order service, at a number of its restaurants across the UK.

A selection of stores throughout the country will offer what the firm has described as its “transformational collection experience”, which promotes contactless payments and removes the need for customers to leave their cars to collect their Five Guys takeaway. 

The introduction follows a successful trial period for the app during nationwide lockdown, and aims to provide a safe and stress-free collection service for those looking to enjoy Five Guys in their car or at home. 

American-style service

Following the latest UK Government guidance, Five Guys has fast-tracked this popular US service that eliminates customer wait times and creates a seamless customer journey.  

‘Curbside’ uses proprietary location technologies, sending timely customer arrival notifications to Five Guys Crew so orders can be prepared and brought to customers as soon as they arrive close to the restaurant. From the start of an order to its completion, Curbside supports the entire customer journey, providing a faster, easier order and pick-up experience. 

Pioneering tech for UK F&B sector

In addition to Click & Collect and Deliveroo orders, customers now have the option to have their favourite Five Guys meal delivered to their car via a safe, contactless method. Similar to Click & Collect, users of Curbside simply place an order online via the Five Guys website or app, but in addition Five Guys will know when you arrive to bring the food out to your car using pioneering technology – a first for the UK’s food and beverage sector.
