From e-commerce to zero-waste: GULFOOD 2022 to power global F&B industry change

The 27th edition of the world’s largest F&B and hospitality show is set to gather 4,000+ companies and industry leaders from 180 countries spanning six continents.

Gulfood – the largest food & beverage sourcing and hospitality event on the planet – returns for its 27th edition to connect, create and change the sector for a better future, during a five-day run at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from 13–17 February 2022.

Underlining its status as the most important event for the global F&B industry, Gulfood 2022 will bring together over 4,000 exhibitors, alongside a raft of F&B industry policymakers, disruptors, and game-changers from 180 countries spanning six continents, to propel conversations from agenda to action and shine light on some of the biggest issues, new technologies, and emerging trends in a sector increasingly influenced by evolving consumer behaviours.

With newcomers comprising some 40 per cent of this year’s participants – offering market breakthrough products – Gulfood 2022 is the first event of the year to truly represent the ever-evolving global F&B trends, and showcase various solutions and innovations to meet those consumer demands.

Shaping the food industry’s future

Spanning 21 DWTC halls, Gulfood will take a deep dive into the rise of e-commerce, spark a shift from dialogue to direct action on zero waste, empower the best young talent in the food industry and bring together some of the world’s top chefs in an unmissable show, according to organisers.

“It has been an extremely difficult time for the global industry to connect, which is why Gulfood is so important. It is about creating a new way of working across the global food system due to the pandemic. Gulfood is a must-attend event,” said Mark Napier, Show Director for Gulfood. “Everybody in the business of food knows that this is where global prices are set, trade partnerships are done, and where people are looking at the future of the food industry.” 

Underlining the emergence and rapid growth of e-commerce, driven by the increasing transition to online shopping and delivery, the all-new Gulfood Inspire conference programme will delve into key themes and opportunities, looking at how the digital marketplace is “both a disruptor and facilitator across the F&B supply chain,” added Mr Napier. 


Renowned for providing global opportunities, this year’s Gulfood will once again connect global producers and buyers, showcasing impact-driven solutions, new products and trends that are impacting the entire value chain as well as addressing global industry challenges.
