The Big London Bake to launch new baking tent, cake-themed bar and entertainment studio in Hackney this February
This February 2022, the UK’s home of baking, The Big London Bake, is expanding to East London, with the launch of the firm’s third baking tent – ‘The Big London Bake East’, in Haggerston.
Opening to budding bakers and novices alike, on 24th February, groups of friends, families, birthday parties, date night and corporate groups can get together, don an apron and a whisk, and start baking some exceedingly good cakes.
Starting out as a pop-up event in 2017 by its founders Adam Chaudhri and Eloise Frank, The Big Bake has grown to become the UK’s number one baking experience. With just a £50,000 loan, Adam and Eloise started this now multi-award-winning business in a pub garden. The firm currently operates two permanent sites – Tooting in South London (The Big London Bake South) and Birmingham (The Big Birmingham Bake – with their third space, in the East London locale of Haggerston in Hackney, set to open imminently, as the business defies current hospitality trends and continues to expand.
The Big London Bake East – location highlights
The Big London Bake East will offer a variety of spaces for guests to hang out and share baking success (and disaster) stories. Located in the adjoining railway arches, a new cake themed bar, accessed through an immersive surprise entrance way, will provide bakers and the general public a much-needed baking-inspired cocktail menu – and the heated outdoor drinking deck and garden is likely to become a must-visit for Londoners. Meanwhile, a separate private, entertainment studio will allow for filming opportunities, corporate groups and larger parties.
The baking tent will showcase 12 fully equipped baking stations, including AEG ovens, fridges and stoves, and Kenwood mixing appliances, with all ingredients and equipment ready for award-winning cakes to be created!
These 90-minute sessions are marketed as “ideal for exciting, experiential days out with loved ones, a chance to get everyone back together again, whatever their age, and most importantly, just have fun!”
There are new bake themes every month, ingredients ready to go, and a professional patisserie chef by your side.
Tickets start from £42.90pp, with 90-minute sessions on Weds/Thurs/Fri (5:45pm & 8:30pm) and Sat/Sun (11:15am, 2pm, 5:15pm, 8:15pm). For more details, and to book tickets, visit: www.thebiglondonbake.com
