Solidus Solutions to showcase circular retail-ready packaging at Fruit Logistica
Leading fibre-based packaging provider Solidus Solutions (SOLIDUS) will attend the annual Fruit Logistica tradeshow for the fruit and vegetable sector at Messe Berlin in Germany from 8–10 February 2023, showcasing its latest sustainable packaging solutions.
The innovative packaging producer will join exhibitors from 86 countries, sharing the latest products, technologies and services at every link in the international supply chain.
At the leading fruit & veg expo, SOLIDUS will present its innovative FUTURLINE® range of retail-ready packaging solutions for fruit and vegetables.
Sustainable punnets and MAP trays
The range includes its solid board punnets, made from renewable resources which offer a sustainable alternative to single-use plastic trays for soft fruits and vegetables. The manufacturer says the punnets offer an attractive solution for consumers that care for the planet, as well as better rigidity, moisture resistance, and optimal protection for produce within the total logistics chain.
SOLIDUS will also present other FUTURLINE® paper-based packaging products for retail, developed at our new SOLIDUS Experience Centre in Spain, including the paper-based modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) tray, which can be used for dried fruits, vegetables, speciality herbs, as well as meat, fish, and ready meals.
These products are now available and approved for supermarkets in Europe.
Enhanced sustainability and shelf-life
The paper-based packaging range delivers solutions that use 80-100 per cent less plastic, giving customers durable solutions with reduced environmental impact that meet consumer preferences. Moreover, these packaging solutions match – or in some cases can improve – the shelf-life of produce, and reduce the need for protective packaging fillers, making them a cost-effective option compared to other formats.
At the tradeshow, customers can also learn more about SOLIDUS’s circular strategy, which transforms recycled paper-based products into packaging and other solid board applications such as point-of-sale displays, sustainable transportation pallets and luxury packaging.
SOLIDUS experts will be available at Fruit Logistica to discuss how packaging innovations can help your business become more sustainable, as well as setting new industry standards that will help your company grow faster.
The solid board packaging solutions will be on display in Hall 1.2 (Stand A-32), with a team of SOLIDUS experts on hand to share the benefits of its fruit and vegetable packaging.
